Bingo is generally a friendly game wherein players are usually ready to help each other out through any bingo problems. If you are planning to play at a bingo hall for the first time, however, you need to understand that there are principles of bingo etiquette that you need to follow to make sure that you and the other people who are playing would have a fun and enjoyable time. Here are some tips that should be able to help you out.
1. Make sure to be quiet as the caller calls out the letter-number combinations. This is important so that everybody would be able to hear what the caller is saying and the shouting of “bingo” of the person who ends up with the winning pattern.
2. If this is your first time at the bingo hall or venue, you might want to watch out for any lucky seats. There are some seasoned players who are very particular about their seats and their connection with their luck in the games. If you sit somewhere which is the luck seat of another person, be sure to grant his or her request to move.
3. Do not be a parrot and repeat the letter-number combinations that are being announced. Although this might be helpful for you, it can be a bit distracting to other players. You can just repeat the combination in your head as you do a quick scan of your cards to mark the appropriate grids.
4. Although kids are generally not advised to be at a bingo hall or venue, if you do bring them, make sure that you are able to keep them quiet. Kids can be rowdy and run around and create distractions so other players might have a hard time concentrating on the game.
5. Lastly, if you do get the winning pattern, make sure that you are certain that you have marked the correct letter-number combination before shouting out “bingo”. Shouting out “bingo” stops the game so if you end up shouting and you have false bingo, other players might get irked, especially if they have already crumpled up their cards for the last game in frustration.
